The Goshen, Chesterfield Fire Department and Williamsburg Police and Fire Department got together for our monthly Tri-town drill. This time, we set up a tanker shuttle between Damon Pond and New Hingham Regional Elementary School in Chesterfield. Two dump tanks were established in the parking lot where an engine was used to flow water.
Teams of firefighters then battled each other to see who could move a small tire through a slalom course the fastest using only the water stream from their hoses. In addition to the practice we get establishing a tanker shuttle and exercising our equipment, this drill touches upon working as a team, working with a charges hose line, being on the nozzle and most importantly, the fine art of rolling hose when we're all done.
